A relationship doomed almost from the start. It was never going to work. You know how it is. You invest time and can't give up. The result is near madness. It's your fault. It's their fault. This can be fixed. But it can't. And wasn't.

I push back you hair
And I tell you once again
I can't be in this madness
Not knowing where or when

Holding back the sorrow
And sliding down the tears
There's not a lot of magic
In seven lonely years

How can I be friendly
And how can I be good?
My friends are all round me
It's so misunderstood

Your stranger from the attic
Is down upon his knees
I'm stuck in the corner
Excuse me please

Oh Mr Policeman
Tell me where to go
I haven't got a clue, mate
You really aught to know

Help me light a fire
Or help me climb a tree
My message in the bottle
At the bottom of the sea

Bottom of the sea
Bottom of the sea
Bottom of the sea
Bottom of the sea

I'm going home
But I've lost the key
Down the pathway
In the morning
I can see me
In your dreams
All around the mountains
Can you hear me?
I should hide your evergreen
Sitting by the fireside
I am bleeding

Down in the jungle
The fleece is getting wet
How can you explain it?
I don't know yet

Don't let them see you coming
Don't make a big mistake
Get out of your corner
For heaven's sake
